Cranberries, good cholesterol!
According to the results of a recent Quebec study, drinking 250ml to 500ml of cranberry juice per day could increase good cholesterol (HDL) in slightly overweight men and lower bad cholesterol (LDL).
Phytochemicals in cranberries protect cardiovascular functions. Research published in the Life Sciences journal states that researchers have found that cranberries could help prevent heart disease, the cause of many deaths.
*Warning: Canada Health has issued an announcement stating that cranberry juice could have an adverse effect on Coumadin, a drug used to thin the blood. It is therefore not recommended to drink cranberry juice whilst taking this drug.
